Learn everything you need to know about mSecure auto-backups, like how to enable it and change the auto-backup settings.

mSecure automatically creates backup files on your device after 5 or changes have occurred. Auto-backups are a great and convenient way to restore your mSecure information if anything were to happen. However, we also recommend creating regular backups of mSecure.

Mac

Auto-backups are enabled by default and will keep up to 10 backup files by default. However, you can disable the auto-backups feature or change the number of auto-backups you’d like to keep.

  1. Open and login to mSecure
  2. Click mSecure from the top bar menu
  3. Click Preferences (command+comma)
  4. Click Backups
  5. Change the settings to your preference and close the mSecure preferences

You will be able to access the mSecure auto-backups and restore from one of those backups at any time by going into the mSecure Preferences, clicking the Backups option, and restoring from the backup you would like.

If iCloud Drive is enabled, mSecure will store your auto-backups in the mSecure folder of your iCloud Drive under a backups folder ( iCloud Drive/mSecure/AccountID/backups ). These backups will be available in the Preferences under the Backups section whenever you sign in to your mSecure account in mSecure. Additionally, you can restore directly from those backups if you wanted to (mSecure 5 -> File -> Restore).

iOS

Auto-backups are enabled by default and will keep up to 5 backup files. Auto-backups cannot be disabled on iOS.
