mSecure’s login-assist feature enables you to copy data from your items into Web form fields. mSecure now has the ability to use the data in your items quite seamlessly. By launching a Login record from the main view in mSecure, the Username and Password fields for your online accounts can automatically be filled for you.

Note: Google requested we remove the Android Accessibility option we previously had. We are working with Google to follow their guidelines and hope to have our app login assist back. We are also working on adding Android Oreo Auto-Fill in mSecure 5

To view, edit, or disable our Login Assist options:

  1. Open and unlock mSecure 5
  2. Tap the menu icon
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Browser
  5. Tap Login Assist

Tapping the Login-Assist Options opens the Login-Assist window. By default, the first option, "mSecure browser with login assist" is selected but there are three other options we will talk about as well.

  1. mSecure browser with Login-Assist
    • By default, the first option, "mSecure browser with login assist" is selected. This provides you with the most seamless integration of your username and password Login item data with your online accounts. With this option chosen, when you launch a URL from one of your Login items, mSecure’s browser will be used to open the page. When you land on the site’s login page, the username and password stored in that item will automatically be copied into the username and password fields of the login form.
  2. Default browser, password and username on login-assist menu
    • The "default browser, password and username on login-assist menu" option does the same as the previous option except it uses which ever Browser you have selected as your default to launch the URL.

  3. Prompt
    • By selecting Prompt in the Login-Assist Options window, each time you launch a URL field in the detail view of a Login item, you will be prompted for which login assist action you would like to use. This gives you the flexibility to use either mSecure’s browser or the default browser on your device each time you launch a Login item.

  4. Default browser with no login assist
    • When you select the "Default browser with no login assist" in the Login-Assist Options window, whenever you select a URL, it will launch the Browser you have set as the default and not enter in your password and username.
