In order to transfer your information, you will need tdownload mSecure 5 and sign in to an mSecure account. After signing in to your account, you will need to create an email backup in mSecure 4.0.6 then restore from that backup in mSecure 5. Please note that mSecure 5 is the first and only version of mSecure to use an account system.


Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open mSecure 4 on your device, and unlock the app
  2. Tap the "mSecure" icon in the upper left corner or swipe your finger from the left side of the screen
  3. Tap "Settings" in the bottom of the menu
  4. Scroll down and tap "Backup," then tap "Internal SD Card"
  5. Tap Continue to make a backup of your data to your internal SD card
  6. Tap "OK"
  7. Close mSecure 4, then open mSecure 5 and unlock the it with your fingerprint or your password
  8. Tap the menu icon in the top left of the main view
  9. Tap "Settings" at the bottom of the list of options
  10. Scroll down and tap "Restore"
  11. Navigate to the "mSecure" folder (NOT the folder named "mSecure5") on the root of your device's main storage, and open it
  12. Find the backup file you just created, then tap it to restore the data from the file
  13. Enter the password you are using to unlock the mSecure 4 app on your old phone to start the restore process



After you have completed these steps, you should now see all of your existing mSecure data in mSecure 5. If you are making use of one of the sync features, within a minute or two, all of the data that was just restored should sync over to all your devices running mSecure 5 and signed in to the same account.





iOS

Please follow the steps below:


  1. Open mSecure 4.5 on your device, and unlock the app
  2. Tap the Settings or gear icon on the bottom right corner
  3. Tap “Email Backup”
  4. Tap “Continue”
  5. Create your email and send it to the email address of your choice
  6. Open the Mail app on your iOS device, and find the email with your backup file attached
  7. Tap on the attachment, then tap “Copy to mSecure”. Select the newer mSecure 5 icon with the dark blue background
  8. After mSecure is opened, use TouchID or enter your password to unlock the app
  9. Tap the red “Restore” button when prompted
  10. Enter the password you were using to unlock the old mSecure app, which is the password protecting the backup’s data, then tap Restore
