iCloud Syncing

iCloud syncing, a way to keep all of your devices in sync using Apple’s iCloud Drive.

When you first sign in to an mSecure account or create an account in mSecure, you will be asked to choose which sync option you’d like to use. You can choose iCloud syncing option at this point. You can also change your sync option at any point in the Sync settings in mSecure.

Due to Apple’s security policies, only the Mac App Store and iOS version of mSecure are able to use iCloud syncing. iCloud sync won’t work between different iCloud accounts because Apple doesn’t allow sharing of files between iCloud accounts. Note: iCloud Drive 200gb and larger plans do now include iCloud Drive sharing with multiple iCloud Drive accounts. However, this will not work for iCloud syncing in mSecure. Please use our mSecure Cloud or Dropbox syncing instead.

In order to use iCloud syncing in mSecure, there are two settings you will need to make sure are setup correctly. These two settings are the email associated with your iCloud account and the iCloud Drive settings, each of which are found in the Settings for iOS or iCloud Preferences on Mac. You must be using the same iCloud account on the devices that you intend to use mSecure with and you must make sure that iCloud Drive is enabled and mSecure is allowed to use your iCloud Drive.

Important: mSecure will not sync with the previous versions of mSecure. However, mSecure can restore from a .msim backup file created in the previous versions. Please refer to these articles to learn how to transfer your information from mSecure 3 or 4 to mSecure.
