Importing 1Password Files (Mac)

Importing 1Password .1pif Backup Files into mSecure

Starting with mSecure 5.5.4 for Mac, you can import 1Password 7 backup files directly. Follow these steps to create a backup in 1Password and restore it in mSecure.


Creating a 1Password 7 Backup

  1. Open and unlock 1Password.
  2. Select the vault you want to export. (You cannot export from "All Vaults).
  3. Click File > Export > All Items. (If you're part of a team account, some vaults may have restricted export permissions. Contact your administrator if needed).
  4. Enter your Master Password when prompted. 
  5. Choose 1Password Interchange Format (.1pif) as the file format. 
  6. Click Save to export the file.

Importing a 1Password 7 Backup into mSecure

  1. Open and unlock mSecure on your Mac.
  2. Click File in the top menu bar.
  3. Select Import.
  4. Choose 1Password 1PIF from the import options.
  5. In the Finder window, locate your .1pif backup file. 
  6. Click Open to import the data.

All imported records will now be formatted for mSecure.
