Auto Backups - Mac

mSecure automatically creates a backup after 5 changes. You can adjust the settings to retain 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 40 backups at a time. These backups can be used to restore your data if needed. By default, backups are stored in iCloud Drive and can be accessed directly from your iCloud account. If iCloud Drive access for mSecure is disabled, backups are stored within the database itself.

Creating or Viewing an Auto-Backup

  1. Open and unlock mSecure.
  2. Click mSecure in the top menu bar (Command +Comma).
  3. Select Preferences > Backups.
  4. Click Backup Now.

Ensure mSecure is enabled in your iCloud Drive settings (this is the default setting). If enabled, backups are saved to

iCloud Drive/mSecure/UserID/backups. These backups can be accessed across all your devices and will appear in the Backups settings in mSecure on your iOS and Mac devices.

Restoring from an Auto-Backup

  1. Open and unlock mSecure.
  2. Click mSecure in the top menu bar (Command +Comma).
  3. Select Preferences > Backups.
  4. Click Restore Now.
